The Host

I’m a community organiser at heart. I host the kind of nights and days people are still talking about weeks later, and I’ve been doing it since I was a teenager.

“Joakim (19) wants more people to join the hobby: I’m paying for everything, except equipment and ammunition!”

“I’d love to have all kinds of people from all kinds of countries. You’re welcome whether you’re 20 or 60,” says Joakim Isaksen with a big smile.

At nineteen I wanted more people to fall for paintball, so I put on an event and covered everything except the gear and the paint. Plenty had signed up already. To fill the last spots, I headed into the city centre to invite people in person.

One Sunday at Tomasjord

A day for a company team

You are cordially invited to

Paintball

at Tomasjord · Sunday, 23 August

A company team, two sides, a lot of paint
and one question: who actually has a plan?

Hosted by Joakim Isaksen & Robin

Dress code: clothes you don’t love

One Sunday, 23 August, Robin and I put on a paintball day at Tomasjord for a company team. My job as host is simple: everyone plays, everyone laughs at least once, and nobody leaves without a story.

Paint was involved.

The Host’s Rules

Posted by the door
  1. I

    Everyone plays.

No spectators. The quiet ones are usually the most dangerous.

  2. II

    Keep score, keep it friendly.

I’m competitive, not cruel. Winners may gloat. Briefly.

  3. III

    Leave with a story.

The best events are the ones people are still retelling on Monday.
